Welcome Allie Williams, IOM As Our New President/CEO of The Greater Bethesda Chamber of Commerce11/19/2020 The Greater Bethesda Chamber of Commerce is pleased and excited to announce that after an extensive interview process, Allie Williams, IOM, has been named President/CEO. Williams brings more than 20 years’ experience as an association executive spending time at the helm of the Title VII Administrators Association (VIIAA), Corporate Responsibility Association (CRA), Director of Organizational Development at the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE) and Director of the Office of Chamber of Commerce Relations at the United States Chamber of Commerce. Most recently he served as the Executive Director & COO of VIIAA, a professional association for Title VII administrators and Human Resources Executives addressed workplace sexual harassment and retaliation issues and worked to ensure that member organizations met and exceed industry standards with respect to anti-discrimination laws.
At the CRA, Williams oversaw a shift in top-down corporate culture as Russell-1000 companies launched major sustainability efforts aimed at creating value and impact for their employees, customers and investors. This was accomplished by ensuring these companies had a positive impression on society, the environment and the economy. These corporate commitments emphasized behaviors that developed and rewarded employees, protected the environment, and operated with the highest standards of ethics and transparency. During his years in the Chamber of Commerce community, Williams developed and implemented first-class products and services related to membership structures, event management, leadership training, advocacy, and economic development. He built rapport and strong relationships with leaders from thousands of State, Metropolitan and Local Chambers across the United States and Canada. Williams, a native of Bethesda, earned his IOM from the U.S. Chamber in 2000, completed Leadership Montgomery in 2005 and has won various membership development honors from ACCE, including the Lifetime Achievement Award and Million Dollar Circle. He is married to Grace and together have three growing children. Williams is a passionate and dedicated professional committed to engaging with the community, empowering businesses to thrive and will apply creative processes to lead the Chamber and shape its future.
