The last quarter of 2021 is upon us and candidly, with regard to new members, this could be our best back to back quarters in years. And the staff continues working hard to make it so it will happen. Staff is laser focused on bettering our communications, member engagement, membership retention, and membership growth with great results. Yet, we do need your help make sure we close 2021 strong, and have momentum carrying us into 2022. But we are not asking for much, this time! The first ask is simple. If you have a presence on LinkedIn, I trust you have taken the time and clicked the “Follow” button on the Chambers LinkedIn page. But in case you haven’t done so yet, here is the link to the LinkedIn page GBCC LinkedIn Page then just click the Follow button right below our logo. Simple and helpful. Before you leave the page though, take a moment and scroll down our postings and see the names of the new members and review some of our upcoming events. You will be pleasantly surprised at what you see. After you have “followed” the GBCC page you should start seeing more of our postings moving forward as you open your LinkedIn account, when you do, please “like” the posts from the chamber and consider sharing the posts as well. These simple steps will help magnify our presence on the social media, and will help bring more members into the Greater Bethesda Chamber of Commerce. Currently we have 452 followers on our LinkedIn page, and we will add 100 this week alone, with your help that is. The second ask is a little more involved, but very doable. We are asking you to ask some of your Friends, Relatives, Associates, Neighbors, and Kids to consider joining the chamber. The highlighted text, FRANK, we will cover next month. What we would like you to know is that you are not alone in the asking as the chamber has a dedicated staff member whose job is to help you start a conversation with your FRANK’s and help them understand why the chamber would be beneficial to them. As simple as a handoff. Please reach out to Carla Young if you have an introduction to make, or just a question to be answered about membership. [email protected]. Thank you all for your continued support of the Greater Bethesda Chamber of Commerce, it is a collaborative effort that keeps us going every day. Russell Lacey One of the coolest parts of my job is meeting people, making new friends, and building a stronger foundation for the Greater Bethesda Chamber of Commerce. One such meeting came about from a colleague running a Chamber in Northern Virginia – She introduced me to Chris Raines, General Manager of the AC Hotel Bethesda. Chris was named GM several months ago and was managing a hotel in Arlington and active with the Arlington Chamber. As many of you have seen, the AC Hotel is under construction at 4646 Montgomery Avenue and will certainly be a tremendous benefit to our community. I had the privilege of meeting Chris and Rodrigo Arandia, Director of Sales for the Hotel and was happy to tour the construction site and new entity. We made our way from the lobby area through to the café and lounge to the 4-season, outdoor patio where I foresee a Chamber reception in the making. Our journey took us up the elevators to the guest room floors, where I was treated to boundless views of downtown Bethesda and the promise of thoughtfully designed rooms for diverse travelers. Chris and Rodrigo have joined the GBCC and have already been active with a couple of Thought Leadership Councils, networking events and engaging with other members to share the story and new history of the AC Hotel Bethesda – Welcome Aboard! |
