As I begin my second month at the helm, the ebbs and flows are leveling off a bit. A rogue wave here and there, but for the most part – smooth sailing. Alright, enough of the metaphors. I love this job and the opportunities to assist our members and prospective members on a day-to-day basis are so fulfilling. Last week the Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation announced Phase 2 of the Restaurant Relief Grant Program. The Chamber staff immediately dug in and shared content via digital media platforms and followed up with visits to several establishments and phone calls to make sure our incredible restaurants were aware and taking full advantage of the program. Great work team! I was fortunate to take a site-tour of two of the new Carr Properties “The Elm” and “The Wilson”.
The Elm (4710 Elm Street) features a variety of available apartment homes, with lavish amenities and beautiful views of the Bethesda area. My tour included a look at studio, 1 and 2 bed-room apartments. Very tempting and so close to everything. The Wilson (7272 Wisconsin Avenue) is stellar. From the moment you walk into the lobby you feel the lush, welcoming environment. Still under construction, but I was able to view the enormous workout area and the most amazing nearly 360° view of the entire DMV from the rooftop area. Truly breathtaking. The sustainability initiatives and attention to detail in both properties are word-class and I suggest you keep that in mind if searching for a brand-new apartment home or office space. Back down on the ground now and ready to continue the work your chamber is doing for you each and every day. Thank you for your confidence in us and your membership investment. I do what I love, ‘cause I love what I do. Together, we’re building a Greater Bethesda. Allie Williams, President & CEO of The Greater Bethesda Chamber of Commerce
