During February, I realized that inspiration comes in many forms. On a national level, vaccines are rolling out and slowly but surely, we will all have our turn at the shot. Here at home, the Chamber’s inspiration has come in the form of Allie Williams. As you know, Allie officially started as President and CEO on January 1. In two months, he has increased our membership and is working to make us a bigger and better organization. He is questioning why and how things are done; improving our internal processes and systems and taking to the streets to meet current members and bring on new ones. There are so many BIG things happening for us this year. One is that it’s our 95th anniversary. Believe it or not, our Chamber has been around since 1926. And just as our founding fathers’ goal was to make Bethesda bigger and better, our goals remain the same today. We’d like to make The Greater Bethesda area a first choice in doing business. We want to attract both small and huge businesses. We aim to create opportunities for growth and prosperity. We feel we are on our way to do this.
In order to continue to achieve these goals, we will be recruiting more members and asking all of our members to participate in our growth process. We plan to create programs to make us all better business owners and discussion platforms for all busines sizes. In the next 2-24 months, you will see a lot of changes coming from The Greater Bethesda Chamber of Commerce. You’re going to hear our name more; you’re going to see us around town more often and most important, you’re going to see our members more. My ask is that you participate. Like The Chamber on all social media platforms. Comment on our posts. Join our events. Refer a new member. You’ll be impressed and proud with who your fellow members are. Our door is open, come on in and join us as we grow and prosper. Thank you, Anna
