Knowing the signs of stroke and getting immediate treatment may minimize the long-term effects of a stroke and even prevent death. Learn the warning signs of stroke with the acronym F.A.S.T. F - Face: Does one side of the face droop or is it numb? A - Arm Weakness: Is one arm weak or numb? S - Speech: Is speech slurred? Can the person repeat a simple sentence? T - Time: Time to call 9-1-1. If someone is showing any symptoms, call right away. Check the time so you know when symptoms first appeared. Even in a pandemic, it is essential to get immediate medical attention at a hospital. Thanks to recent advances, stroke treatments and survival rates have improved greatly over the last decade. When given ongoing support and access to meaningful therapeutic services, stroke recovery continues indefinitely and allows stroke survivors to live active and productive lives. F A S T seems a perfect definition to take care of individuals having stroke and yes it require immediate attention.
